Remote-first business Payara highly commended in Remote Excellence Awards

Payara Services Ltd. was highly commended at the 2024 Remote Excellence Award, organized by the leader in building, managing, and supporting globally distributed workforces, Remote. Praised within the Excellence in DE&I (diversity, equity and inclusion) category, the company was acknowledged for its proven record in welcoming and valuing team members with different nationalities, genders, races, ages, religions, sexual orientations and abilities.

The Remote Excellence Awards celebrate the visionary efforts of companies worldwide that are trailblazing in the realm of remote work and distributed teams. They recognize the most successful solutions and strategies while providing inspiring roadmaps for other businesses to follow.

The judging panel was formed by leading influencers in the field of remote working and global team leadership as well as Remote’s senior leaders. The judges selected Payara, the leader in application server technology, for its actions, policies, processes and achievements aimed at driving and continuously improving DE&I across all levels of the organization.

In particular, the panel of judges positively valued how Payara backed its DE&I statements with key data on its industry-leading practices. The company, which applies a remote-first hiring policy that promotes workforce diversity, has organically grown its DE&I strategy to recruit the best talents, independently of their location. Currently, ethnic minorities represent 35% of Payara’s workforce, while the industry average is estimated at 25%. Similarly, 35% of the staff identifies as female, with 75% of senior leadership roles filled by women.
