Modernizing Enterprise Java Applications: Jakarta EE, Spring Boot, and AI Integration This webinar explores practical strategies for enhancing enterprise Java applications with generative AI capabilities across Jakarta EE (Java EE) and Spring Boot platforms. Through hands-on demonstrations and real-world case studies, we’ll examine framework-specific approaches for AI integration, including Spring AI for Boot applications and REST client patterns for Jakarta EE systems. Attendees will learn: Building AI-powered features using Spring Boot’s native AI tooling Implementing LLM integration patterns in Jakarta EE applications Managing asynchronous AI processing and response caching Handling security considerations when connecting to AI services Designing maintainable architectures that combine AI with enterprise patterns Whether you’re maintaining legacy Jakarta EE systems or developing new Spring Boot applications, you’ll gain actionable insights for incorporating AI capabilities while preserving enterprise-grade reliability. Join us for live coding, architecture deep-dives, and interactive discussions with experienced enterprise architects who have successfully deployed AI features in production Java systems. Key Takeaways Framework-Specific AI Integration Techniques: Learn how to build AI-powered features using Spring Boot’s native AI tooling and implement LLM integration patterns for Jakarta EE systems, leveraging REST client patterns for seamless AI service communication. Advanced Architectural and Operational Insights: Understand strategies for managing asynchronous AI processing, response caching, and handling security considerations when integrating AI into enterprise Java applications, ensuring maintainable and scalable systems. Practical Implementation and Real-World Applications: Benefit from live coding demonstrations, architecture deep-dives, and real-world case studies showcasing successful AI feature deployments in production environments for both legacy Jakarta EE systems and new Spring Boot applications.
SIFMA Foundation Challenges As student participation surged and expectations around the uptime and flexibility of SIFMA Foundation’s financial education platform increased, the organization’s top application began to show its age. During peak sessions, the platform needed to support upwards of 8,000 concurrent users, yet the infrastructure was only comfortably handling 2,000-4,000 users. The SIFMA Foundation needed a path to modernization for its application and middleware that could support a large volume of requests while integrating smoothly with AIX. Solution The SIFMA Foundation decided to migrate its platform to Payara Platform Enterprise. The move from a monolithic C/C++ implementation to a Java-based architecture was a major undertaking, but Payara’s support team and technology minimized disruption and provided immediate modernization benefits. With direct support from expert engineers, the foundation was able to complete the transition smoothly, address compatibility issues quickly and establish a future-ready environment for continuous growth and innovation. Results After moving to Payara Platform Enterprise, the impact was immediate and dramatic: user capacity increased by 2x , with per-machine capacity more than doubling from 2,000 to 5,000. Besides unlocking scalability opportunities, the new system improved flexibility for agile enhancements, and enabled future growth to support more machines and users.
