A Conversation with Our Sales Manager

As Payara Services continues to grow to drive our innovate solutions, we’re thrilled to announce new opportunities within our Sales team. With a strong focus on expanding our reach and enhancing our customer engagement, we’re looking for talented Demand Generation Specialists to join us and drive our success forward.

To give potential candidates a better understanding of what it’s like to be part of our dynamic Sales team, we sat down with one of our seasoned sales leaders and mentors, Catherine Shanshurova.

Can you tell me more about yourself and your experience in Sales?

I have been a Sales Manager at Payara since last August. Prior to this role, I’ve spent over 15 years in the SaaS industry, selling solutions for small to medium size businesses and enterprises across various fields, verticals and customer bases. I am an expert in driving global sales, building as well as leading remote sales and customer success teams from the ground up.

What makes the Payara sales team a great working group?

One of the core values at Payara is being open. This openness fosters continuous improvement and excellence, two key elements that drive our team forward. We’re not just colleagues, we’re a closely knitted team. Our collaborative spirit and mutual support make us stronger and more effective.

What do you think are the strengths of the sales team?

Our team’s diversity is one of our greatest strengths. Each member brings a unique background and perspective, enriching our approach to sales and customer engagement. This variety of experiences and insights allows us to connect with a wide range of clients worldwide, understand and address their needs effectively. We can offer localized sales support on a global scale.

What do you like the most about the Payara sales team?

There’s so much to love, but if I had to highlight one thing, it would be the team’s resilience and ambition. In addition to being goal oriented, I am lucky to be surrounded by Payarans that are team players and have a fantastic sense of humor. It makes working together a joy!

What are you looking for in the ideal candidate for the Demand Generation Specialist role?

We’re seeking candidates with experience, resilience, grit and ambition. As industry knowledge is crucial to help us achieve our goals, the ideal application should have experience in SaaS for different industry verticals. Being approachable is also essential – it helps in building rapport and maintaining a positive work environment.

Why does the Demand Generation Specialist role offer an exciting opportunity?

As a Demand Generation Specialist, your role is fundamental to help Payara grow. You’ll be pivotal in driving the sales and customer success departments by creating Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs). Your contributions will significantly impact the company’s overall success, making this a highly rewarding position.

What would the Demand Generation Specialists do and how will they interact with the team?

The Demand Generation Specialists will generate MQLs, enabling our Account Executives to engage with these leads and guide them through the sales process. This role involves daily interactions with the team, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration to achieve our sales goals.
