He is a Jakarta EE expert ready to bring his insight and skills to Payara. We asked him a few questions to get to know him better! What are some of your favourite hobbies to do outside of work? Why do you enjoy them? My principal hobby is teaching. I just find joy in explaining things. I think teaching puts me in a state of Flow as propounded by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. Another hobby (not sure if you can call it that) is spending time with my boys. It’s a joyful experience playing with them every time 😄 Luqman warming up for his first day with Payara! Have you worked remotely before? How did you find it? Yup. Working remotely fits almost perfectly to my personal lifestyle. Before working remotely, I’d worked for 16 years commuting. Working remotely definitely is much better. What are your three top tips for technical content writing? Quite simple- Understand before trying to teach, write as if you’re speaking to a friend and verify whatever you put out there. Bonus: be ready for criticism of your work. What’s the biggest misconception people have about your role? “It’s just writing” Nope. It’s part engineering, part writing, part orator, part marketer and part ops. What’s a favourite destination that you’ve visited? Where would you like to visit? The Marienberg Fortress and Wurzburg Residencies, both in Germany were an incredible experience.
