How Choice of JDK Can Impact DevOps Workflows

In November, we announced we were extending our agreement with Azul Systems, continuing to ship its Zulu Enterprise builds of OpenJDK with Payara Platform Enterprise as part of the included support services of Payara Services and Payara Micro.

We’re continuing our productive partnership with a joint webinar, where Azul and Payara will together discuss how your choice of JDK can impact your development and DevOps workflows.

Payara Azul joint webinar

Azul provides the world’s most trusted open source Java platform and Payara Services Ltd provides best-in-class Jakarta EE and MicroProfile compatible supported application services. Azul Zulu JDK is built from the OpenJDK code base, but curated to incorporate security, production monitoring and container deployment features and capabilities that are particularly useful when running Payara Server or Payara Micro.

You’ll learn in this webinar:

* How to configure Payara for the TLS 1.3 protocol on a JDK 8 version

* How to use Java Mission Control and Flight Recorder to monitor Payara Server and your application

* How to use Class Data Sharing to accelerate startup of the Payara Micro container running micro services.

Payara’s Rudy De Busscher will be in conversation with Azul’s Simon Ritter in two sessions for different time zones, taking place:

10.00 AM GMT / 11.00 AM CET : for EMEA

19.00 PM GMT / 20.00 PM CET : for Americas

Simon Ritter is the Deputy CTO of Azul Systems.  Simon joined Sun Microsystems in 1996 and spent time working in both Java development and consultancy.  He has been presenting Java technologies to developers since 1999 focusing on the core Java platform as well as client and embedded applications.

Now at Azul Systems he continues to help people understand Java and Azul’s JVM products. He represents Azul on the JCP Executive Commitee as well as the JSR Expert Groups for JDK 9, 10, 11 and 12.

Rudy De Busscher loves to create (web) applications with the Java EE platform and MicroProfile implementations and is currently working for Payara Services Limited in the Service Team. He helps customers, writes technical content, is part of some MicroProfile implementations and advocates the Payara Products in various ways.

He is active in the IT industry for more than 20 years and created many applications for customers. He is also passionate about Web Application Security using OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and JWT. He maintains the Octopus OpenSource project and is a member of the Jakarta EE Security API team.
