Christmas Festivities at the Malvern Office Published on 19 Dec 2019 by Mycah Banks You might have noticed that Payarans will make lots of excuses for a good time, and the energy of Christmas and New Year is as good of a reason as any to let down our proverbial hair for a bit of fun. On 6 December, Payarans in our UK office celebrated the upcoming holidays with its annual Christmas party, when all Payarans in our UK office shut down their workstations at lunchtime to spend the rest of the day having some fun and a nice meal out on the town. Donning our favourite Christmas jumpers, we kicked off festivities to sort out loot from Yuletide Burglar — a week-spanning game to secretly “steal” goods from our colleagues’ desks (no worries – we return it all in the end). Prizes for the most creative burglaries, most eager burglars and most hopelessly burgled included various quantities of Lindt chocolate. The office then moved to our annual “pub quiz”, conducted by yours truly. As well as general knowledge, Payarans got to prove their grip on Payara culture, including Payara’s values, history and people. The prize for the top three teams? You guessed it — more chocolate! We then packed up our things and headed to Priory View Restaurant — set in Malvern’s 4-star hotel The Abbey (The UK office’s base in a lovely Victorian spa town has its perks). After a three-course lunch, some Payarans then walked over to The Foley Arms for a drink and more chatting. It was after 5, and already dark, before everyone parted ways for the weekend, making for an altogether successful festive Friday. Topics: Payara EventsBack to Team Blog
