Payara Services Wins Queen’s Award!

We are overjoyed to announce that Payara has been honoured with the most prestigious UK business award: the Queen’s Award for Enterprise.

Often called the “Knighthood for Businesses”, the Queen’s Award is also renowned worldwide, with Payara’s award particularly recognising our international success.

What Does it Mean to Win a Queen’s Award for International Trade?

Established in 1965, the Awards single out and celebrate the most exciting and innovative businesses in the UK, with the International Trade award specifically aiming to celebrate those delivering impressive results on a global scale.

122 awards for International Trade are announced today for the 2021 Awards, part of 205 organisations granted the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in total.

Considering that the current number of businesses in the UK is around 6 million, Payara is one of this elite group of high performing businesses.

Why Did We Win the Award?

Our leading team of tech, marketing, sales, customer service, and business management experts – or ‘Payarans’ as we are collectively called – have worked incredibly hard to increase annual revenue by 107% over the last three years, with export sales more than doubling from 33% to 75%.

In a year where export sales as a whole have fallen – with British Chambers of Commerce recently surveying exporters and finding those reporting fewer export sales increased to 41% from 38% in the previous quarter – we are especially proud of this achievement.

With a secondary EU office located in Funchal, Portugal, this award is testament to our successful strategy for overseas trade, devised and implemented following our 2016 launch.

95% of our services are now exported to 9 countries globally – including the USA, Japan, South Africa, and Germany.Growth of Payara

He has written his own blog expanding on the importance of this award in the context of our technical community.

Meanwhile our Marketing Manager, Dominika Tasarz-Sochacka, added: “This prestigious award enhances our global reputation and builds on the exceptional growth we’ve experienced overseas in the last three years.”

What Does the Award Mean in the Longer Term?

Now in its 55th year, winning businesses can use the esteemed Queen’s Awards emblem for five years. We’ll use it in marketing and promotional activity, add to our website and core messaging, and incorporate it into our identity as a brand – one of the many reasons we are proud to be Payarans!
