Payara Services, LTD are looking for a Service Engineer to join our team of GlassFish, Java EE/Jakarta EE and Payara experts. Our Service Engineers are key to driving adoption and providing support that ensures customers’ success with the Payara Platform. Whether troubleshooting production performance issues, advising on best practice configuration or working with our Payara Software Engineering team to reproduce customer problems, our Service Engineers are ready for any challenge.

We are major contributors to the development and engineering effort of the Payara Server Open Source Project and the Payara Foundation. Our global Support Engineers deliver 24/7 production, development and migration support directly to customers worldwide.

Technical Knowledge 

  • Experience of GlassFish and/or Payara Server development or administration.
  • Java EE and Java SE development experience.
  • Cloud and/or virtualisation experience.
  • Knowledge of Linux or Windows administration.

Location/Timezone

  • We are looking for Service Engineers to work from home in either the US PST- EST or European GMT-CET timezones.
  • German, Spanish or Japanese as a second language is highly desirable.

About the Role

  • Handle support tickets from customers.
  • Feed customer requirements back to the development team and help shape product development.
  • Write technical documentation, blogs and marketing material.
  • Evangelise Payara through conference speaking, JUGs and technical articles.
  • Respond to community queries on GitHub Issues, the Payara Forum and Stack Overflow.
