One of the Payara Server's enhancements is Hazelcast session persistence. Due to some clustering and high availability issues in GlassFish 4.1 and low activity on the Shoal development repo, engineers have implemented Hazelcast into the core of Payara to provide robust session clustering. Payara’s latest Jenkins builds now have Hazelcast built in, disabled by default so there’s no installation required. Technical Director and Founder of Payara, Steve Millidge teamed up with Hazelcast to demonstrate the new feature in action.
